How to Find Someone in Victoria City Jail
The easiest way to locate an inmate is to contact detention staff via phone at 434-696-2334. You can also visit the lobby of the jail and ask staff about the inmate you are searching for.
Sending a Mail/Care Package
Inmates can receive mail at this address:
Inmate's First and Last Name
P. O. Box V, Victoria, VA, 23974
Inmates can receive postcards and letters, and senders should ensure their name and return address is included on the envelope. Without this information, the mail might not be delivered to the inmate. Be cautious not to include anything in the letters that is prohibited such as pornography or violent material. Photographs can be sent, as long as they are smaller than 4x6 and not obtuse in nature.
Sending Money
The Victoria City Jail uses a Jail Credit system for money assigned to inmate accounts. Time spent in the Municipal Jail for a City of Victoria class C misdemeanor ticket or warrant leads to more Jail Credit in the accounts. A judge oversees the Jail Credit system and is ultimately responsible for how much money an inmate can accrue.
Jail Credit is not available for all inmates charged with misdemeanor; the credit also depends on time served and good behavior. Each inmate will be analyzed individually.
Phone calls
After a prisoner is booked for the first time, he can make one free phone call. After an arraignment, he can make another free phone call. Aside from those two free phone calls, an inmate can also make outgoing phone calls collect, with the charges the responsibility of the recipient of the phone call.
You can call 434-696-2334 for further information on setting up an inmate for making phone calls.
Visitation
There is a visitor’s center at the jail. The Victoria City Jail itself is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can go to the visitor’s office any time to inquire about visitation. Visitation rights depend on the inmate and on what charge they are serving time for.
