Sending a Mail/Care Package
You cannot contribute much to a prisoner’s personal property. During visitation at the Baltimore Sheriff's Jail, you are permitted to bring one pair of socks and one pair of underwear. Sending mail and packages is not recommended. While underwear and socks are permitted, bras with underwire are not allowed to be issued to inmates due to safety concerns.
Sending Money
Money for Baltimore Sheriff's Jail prisoners is in the form of Jail Credit. Jail Credit is a monetary value assigned by the city that directly correlates to the amount of time spent in jail. State law will assist a judge in determining how much jail credit each prisoner receives. Jail Credit only applies to prisoners who are booked on some Class C misdemeanors, and is on a case by case basis. Sending money to inmates is not permitted.
Phone calls
Prisoners at the Baltimore Sheriff's Jail can make some collect phone calls from inside their cell blocks. They are also permitted to make one free phone call after they are booked. It is recommended you make arrangements for the prisoner to call you, instead of attempting to phone the inmate directly.
Visitation
You can visit inmates at the Baltimore Sheriff's Jail between 2PM and 4PM on Sundays and between 7:30PM and 9:30PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. No more than 2 people can visit per session. You cannot visit in groups; only per person is permitted to visit at a time, and visits are limited to 10 minutes. Visitors must be at least 17 years old, have proper identification, and not have any outstanding warrants.
